Paradise Plates 2018 – Celebrating 10 Years!

Foodie Event of the Year!

Celebrating ten years of service, Hands for Hunger is putting the finishing touches on preparations for the 2018 Paradise Plates. The organization’s signature fundraiser has quickly become known as one of the island’s most anticipated charity events of the year, for both foodies and supporters of good causes alike.

Scheduled for Saturday, September 29, at Atlantis’ Imperial Ballroom, this year’s Paradise Plates will feature a lavish array of delicious fare and drinks from the country’s top chefs and beverage purveyors, as well as a line-up of exciting entertainment, too.

Paradise Plates will feature a 10th-anniversary-themed raffle drawing for amazing prizes including JetBlue and SkyBahamas tickets, hotel stays, an Aliv iPhone X and much more,. Guests can also expect to experience the craft of culinary celebrities like international Chef Hiyaw Gebreyohannes of Gorsha, Washington D.C.; Pachi Larrea, Chocolatier and Patissier of Miami, FL; and September H4H ambassadors, the 2018 gold medalist Bahamas National Culinary Team, sponsored by REV Cable Bahamas. 

This year’s indoor food festival will also feature over 40 restaurants and beverage purveyors, including some of the newest and hottest restaurants in Nassau. Guests will have the opportunity to sample signature dishes from first-time Paradise Plates culinary partners: Atlantis’ Fish and Seafire Steakhouse; 320NiceCream; Cleo Mediterraneo; The Cheesecake Heaven; Events by Alexandra, Fi’lia by Michael Schwartz; Flying Dutchman Liquor Store; Philosophy Smokehouse; POW; Puffee Gourmet Cotton Candy; Six N’ Four; and Vell Monkey Foot.

Hands For Hunger has also brought back some of the most popular participants from previous years, including Atlantis’ Nobu; Aquapure; Biggity; Bristol Wines & Spirits; Cafe Madeleine; Caribbean Bottling Company; Drifter’s at the Fish Fry; Dunkin’ Donuts; Graycliff Chocolatier & Wine; Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits; John Watling’s Distillery; Katsuya by Starck; Le Petit Gourmet; Liquid Courage; Louis & Steen’s New Orleans Coffeehouse; Luciano’s of Chicago; Old Fort Bay Club; Pink Octopus; Pirate Republic Brewery; Pop Stop; Pulpy Frozen Dessert; Sands Beer; Studio Cafe; Wild Thyme; Young’s Fine Wine; and Yummy Sky Juice.
There will be live performances by Essence Band, Falcon Band and The Juju Tree Band. On the turntables is the return of the official Paradise Plates DJ – DJ Ignite. The event will also feature an exciting Wine Pull with exciting prizes and the Stan Burnside Junkanoo Group to cap off the evening with a Junkanoo rush out.

JetBlue has increased its support as the 2018 Title Sponsor of Paradise Plates. The event is presented by ALIV and TradeZero. In-kind sponsors that help make the event an extravagant affair include the Atlantis Resort, Zamar Productions, Wildflowers Events & Occasions, Sign Island, Bahamas Local and Bahamas Experience. Paradise Plates tickets available and can be purchased online at www.handsforhunger.org or in person at the Hands For Hunger office in The New Providence Community Centre on Blake Road and at Bahamas Vision Centre in The Harbour Bay Shopping Plaza. Guest Experience tickets are $200. VIP Experience tickets are sold out. All proceeds from this event benefit Hands For Hunger.
