March 26th The Hands for Hunger Team took our refrigerated trucks and headed to Eleuthera where we distributed about 1000 nutritious food packages to settlements as far North as Current Island and Spanish wells, as far south as Millars and Deep Creek, and every settlement in between!
We worked with local community leaders in North, Central and South Eleuthera to ensure that the food got to the people who needed it most. The boxes contained important staple items with high levels of nutrients, including grits, oats, rice, tuna, sardines, soups, vegetables, fruits, eggs, and bread.
This is the beginning of what we hope is a permanent expansion into the Family Islands, with the long term goal to have a presence on every island.
