School Feeding Initiative
Hands for Hunger is excited to highlight the launch of its Summer Feeding Initiative for Students. This feeding initiative will provide inner-city children with access to nutritious and hearty daily meals, healthy snacks, and beverages of juice and water. Many of the children attending this camp will rely on the meals provided. The programme provides an opportunity to continue a child's physical and social development while providing nutritious meals during long vacation periods from school. The camp is spearheaded by El Jays Hilltop Ministries, one of our partner agencies. Pastor Laura, has taken on 150 kids at the camp located off of Kemp Road. Many of the children and their families in this community are challenged with food insecurity, unemployment, and financial hardship. Hands for Hunger continues to adapt its operations to bridge the gap for individuals experiencing food insecurity in The Bahamas.
