Committed to expanding education and awareness, The Bahamas AIDS Foundation provides after school services to individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
The Bahamas Association For Social Health manages an adult male residential substance dependency treatment and rehabilitation program.
The Bahamas Red Cross provides food delivery services to the sick, suffering, and immobile members of the community through its Meals On Wheels program.
Bethel Baptist Church’s social outreach program feeds underprivileged youth and the elderly in one of Nassau’s most poverty-stricken areas.
Located on the cross-section of Shirley Street and Kemp Road, Church of God of Prophecy serves lunch through its soup kitchen for those affected by hunger.
Church of the Nazarene is also located on East Street – Central – and ministers to a largely Haitian / Haitian-Bahamian congregation. The church has a soup kitchen on the second floor, and they have worked closely with HOPHAS in the past, and have been known to deliver food directly to people in need.
The Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home provides 24 hour care for up to 50 orphaned children between the ages of 11 and 17 years.
Serving our most vulnerable populations, our children and the elderly, Eljhay’s Hilltop Cottage Ministries nourishes the Kemp Road community by delivering meals to homes.
Families Organised Against Murder. This organisation was started by Khandi Gibson in 2014 and is rooted in the Nassau Village area. Their mission is to assist victims and families with resources in the aftermath of a violent crime and homicide. In 2017 FOAM launched a food bank and hopes to continue providing food to those in need.
Located in Yellow Elder, this non-profit organization is home to 36 senior citizens.
Offering a multitude of programs and services, Great Commission Ministries International supports men, women, and children in need through the distribution of food, and clothing.
Providing help, hope, and encouragement to those affected by substance abuse, The Haven’s program includes weekly meal distribution.
The Wellness Ministry of NPCC offers non-perishable food items from their pantry and provides spiritual guidance to persons seeking support.
The PACE program is designed to offer educational, socio-economic, spiritual, emotional and health care services to pregnant adolescents and teen parents.
The Salvation Army offers comprehensive feeding, education, residency, and welfare programs to those seeking emergency assistance in New Providence.
Operated daily by the Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church, hot meal lunches are provided for those in need in the surrounding area through a soup kitchen.
Teen Challenge is an interdenominational Christian program that reaches out to troubled young people who struggle with issues of violence and substance abuse.
Located on East Street, this non-profit home for senior citizens has operated for over 30 years.
This organisation is located on East Street- North- it’s a soup kitchen that regularly serves warm cooked food to the community.
